F-Plan Complete - The Affordable Weight Control Food for your dog

It is always advisable to feed a complete dry dog food as it is; dry. The crunchy texture of the kibble will help to keep your dogs teeth clean and help to control tatar build up.

The recommended average amount of food to feed your dog is 100g or 3oz of dry dog food per 5kg or 10lb of bodyweight.

  • For Example - If your dog weighs 20kg, they should require around 400g of food per day. Splitting this into two meals as 200g in themorning and 200g in the evening would be a good idea.                                                  Please note that this amount may vary slightly depending on how active your dog is.
How to feed F-Plan:

As with any new food, introduce F-Plan gradually over a period of one week.

Refer to the feeding guide on the reverse of the bag.

  • Unlike some weight control style feeds on the market, we do not advise you to cut meal portions. In our opinion if a dog is hungry then they will look for something to eat- it is in their nature to do so! Starving your dog is not recommended and will generally only lead to 'begging' and 'scavening'.

As F-Plan is a nutritionally balanced food which is lower in energy and protein when compared to a standard diet, the overall calorie content of the food is much lower- so if your dog eats the same amount of F-Plan as they did of their previous food- they will be consuming less calories anyway!

Due to it's higher fibre content it is also very likely that your dog will eat less as they should achieve a feeling of 'fullness' from the bulk of the fibre. This in turn should help to reduce the dog's desire to overeat. In addition, as fibre is digested more slowly, your dog should maintain a feeling of 'fullness' for longer.

  • Fresh and clean drinking water must always be available to your dog.

PLEASE REMEMBER:

F-Plan is a specialist weight control food that is low in protein and energy. It is therefore not recommended for pregnant or nursing bitches, extremely active dogs or for dogs under the age of 12 months.

If you are concerned about your dog's weight or need any advice about their health or wellbeing then it is always advisable to speak to your vet.
